Easy, Healthy & (according to me) Delicious!
This is a thing I was “taught to do” (actually I was just told the ingredients) by one of the Greek women at my work.
(ρεβίθια [revýthia] is the greek word for chickpeas)
I don’t have any exact amount for any exact portions, so just put whatever amounts you feel capable of eating (:
what you need:
– chickpeas, (remember to put in water for 12 hours before!!)
– onion, finely chopped
– olive oil
– lemon zest
– salt, pepper
how to do:
1. heat olive oil in a pot
2. sauté the chopped onions for about 1 minute
3. add chickpeas, lemon zest, salt & pepper and remember plenty of water (just add more during the boiling if it disappears)
4. let it boil for about 1 hour, until the chickpeas are soft and most of the water is gone
PS: It tastes better than it looks!
